While there’s plenty of innovation in Palmer Johnson’s SuperSport 48 metre, the refusal to compromise is at the core of this carbon-fibre motor yacht, currently in build for delivery in the autumn of 2013.
‘The idea was to design a next generation Palmer Johnson SuperSport yacht that freed itself from the conventional compromises that yacht design generally seems to accept,’ says Timur Mohamed, owner of the iconic American yacht brand and former first-class cricketer. ‘Usually, efficient means slow; space and comfort mean a floating home with a forgettable design. Further, we decided to aim for exponential transformations in operational performance and the onboard experience, not incremental improvements.’ Finally, Mohamed wanted all this wrapped up in a package that was still recognisable as a muscular, sporty Palmer Johnson.
Creating an entirely new design for the Palmer Johnson SuperSport series meant leaving the status quo behind.
Taking bold decisions to redefine the future of yachting. The SuperSport Yacht is a fusion of extremes. A masterful and intuitive blend of design, technology and performance. Unique as a class of Superyacht.
It sounds impossible for a yacht to be faster, more efficient, more stable and more spacious without compromising performance or comfort. Never done before, until now. All in a sleek and stunning carbon fibre body designed with not a single flat surface. Designed from every angle. Everything.
A yacht that feels like it’s been designed and engineered to very high standards. Because it is. Everything a yacht should be, expressed in a single yacht.
